At 9 Dots (www.9dots.org), our mission is to provide transformative computer science education for every student. We are a diverse community of educators, researchers, and engineers committed to bringing computer science to all students, particularly those from underserved communities. We believe in creating learning environments that engage every student, foster joy, and promote fearlessness in problem solving. We aim to empower students by transforming the way they voice their ideas, understand their world, and imagine their futures.
We are a young, nimble, and growing organization. We run in-school, after-school, and summer programs to teach K-12 youth from Title I schools how to code, and help teachers acquire the knowledge and skills to teach computer science classes in their schools. We are committed to ensuring that all students have access to innovative and effective computer science education, with a special commitment to providing opportunities for female, African-American, and Latinx youth to learn coding and be prepared for further study and careers in computer science.
