Building cs pathways

The Get Coding program is dedicated to building complete K-6 pathways for students in Title 1 schools in Los Angeles. Through lesson support with our on-site Coding Coordinators, professional development, and office hours we build teachers’ capacity to teach coding classes independently.

Our Insights

We collaborate with top universities, school districts, and research institutions to be on the forefront of Computer Science Education research. Our research findings play an integral role in how we teach, build, and run our programs.

A Commitment To Learning

A critical goal of our research initiatives is to diversify the STEM talent pipeline by creating curriculum that interests more girls and students of color in computing.

Current Project

Our hypothesis is that learning to code makes the problem solving process more visible to students and teachers. In this multi-year project funded by the National Science Foundation, we are collaborating in a Research-Practice Partnership with UCLA and public school teachers to co-design lessons and codify problem-solving pedagogy.

“It's my last week! I made it so far! There's no going back! When coding gets tough, I’m going to remind myself how far I've come. #IbelieveIcancode”
