Independent Teacher Workshop

You’ve made it to the midway point! Teaching coding independently is no small feat, and we want to support you to continue teaching through the end of the school year. How is it going? Are you near your 25 lessons goal? This workshop is designed to assess your progress from the previous semester, reflect on your students’ learnings in the first semester, and plan out your lessons for the rest of the school year.

The Challenge

In this workshop, you will:

  1. Reflect on your progress from last semester

  2. Use guided questions and a pacing calendar to plan for the year

  3. Prepare your upcoming lessons for successful delivery

Your Pacing Goal

Your goal is to teach 25 lessons or the fifth lesson of the third module in your grade level. Here is the breakdown:

  • Module 1: 10 Lessons

  • Module 2: 10 Lessons - currently, you should be nearing this module or have already started it.

  • Module 3: Project Module - First 5 lessons

Note: 6th-grade modules differ and have four modules, and 3rd-grade only has a 1-lesson project
